WHAT IS MYOPIA?

The incidence of myopia is expected to increase significantly as lifestyle change, with children taking part in more near-sighted activities like using digital devices, studying and reading, and spending less time outdoors. Hereditary, behavioural and environmental factors also play a part.
Myopia in children becomes more common as they grow and is most likely to occur between the ages of 6 and 13 years. Myopia usually runs in families: nearly 1 in 3 children develops shortsightedness when one parent is myopic, and the chance becomes even greater when both parents are (1 in 2 children).

WHAT IS MiYOSMART?
MiYOSMART Lenses are innovative lenses for myopia control developed by Hoya, together with its research collaborators. Beyond correcting myopic refractive error, a two-year clinical trial shows that MiyoSmart lenses with D.I.M.S (Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments) technology work to curb myopia progression
Based on a two-year clinical trial results on 160 children aged 8-13, MiyoSmart is proven to curb myopia progression in children on average by 59%. The study also showed that children using MiyoSmart lenses had less axial elongation (length of the eye) on average by 60% as compared to those wearing standard lenses.
By slowing down the progression of myopia and its associated eyesight deterioration, your child can enjoy their life more by seeing clearly.

D.I.M.S. TECHNOLOGY
MiYOSMART with D.I.M.S. technology is comprised of a central optical zone for correcting refractive error and multiple defocus segments evenly surrounding the central zone (extending to the mid-periphery) of the lens to control myopia progression.
